Looking back on 2025, it’s easy to focus on the challenges: funding cuts, sociopolitical division, and a federal administration putting forth harmful policies that disproportionately impact our most vulnerable community members.

But we also saw creativity and inspiration last year. We saw nonprofits staff and board members sharing resources and skills to advance their organizations, programs, and field. We saw advocates working tirelessly to protect the environment and expand access to the outdoors. And at the Onion Foundation, we were fortunate to see many of our grantees make necessary adjustments in the face of mounting pressure and go on to offer exciting, inclusive, and high-quality programs.

Our 2025 Impact Report celebrates these grantees and outlines what our team accomplished last year. Read our report to:

  • See our 2025 grantmaking year in numbers
  • Explore insights about the year’s grantmaking activities from our program officers and trustees
  • Learn about our robust technical assistance offerings

Reflecting on 2025 allows us both to see how far we’ve come and to envision where we want to go in 2026 and beyond — and our Impact Report is a key step in that process.
