In response to the COVID19 pandemic, the Onion Foundation awarded mini grants to 84 organizations in April. These organizations were extended an invitation based on receiving previous mission-aligned funding from the Foundation.

COVID SOS GRANTS

The COVID Supplemental Organizational Support (SOS) grants were one-time additional grants made to invited organizations working in the Environment and Arts sectors who have a prior grant relationship with the Onion Foundation. These operating grants, ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, are intended to sustain organizations facing additional financial stress due to the COVID pandemic and related challenges in the areas of staffing, fundraising, alternative programming, etc.
